ANALYSIS: This is a strong deal for McCourty, paying him $30 million over the first three years ($1.5 million of that is tied to roster bonuses), which is often the marker used to gauge a contract. We'll compute the salary-cap charges when the deal becomes official, but an early marker is that McCourty will count $6 million against the cap in 2015, and $8 million against the cap in 2016.
