  • SEA Relief Pitcher #75
Apparently, this has been ongoing for a couple of weeks, but this is the first time the Mariners have expressed concern. He’s expected to undergo an MRI on Wednesday to see if there’s something significant going on in there. Ryne Stanek is probably worth picking up for mixed leaguers in need of saves.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #9
Flaherty said after the game that he thinks he’ll be able to make his next start, which was already due to come with a couple of extra days off. The 28-year-old righty has been outstanding this season in his Tigers debut and was lifted from Tuesday’s outing against the Rangers after striking out four over five scoreless frames.
  • BAL First Baseman #6
Mountcastle forced a 12-pitch at-bat against Trevor Richards in the first inning before striking out and turned his second at-bat into a three-run bomb off Bowden Francis to put the Orioles up 4-0. He would homer again in the fifth, sending a two-run shot into the stands to push the lead to 7-0. Mountcastle has now hit safely in eight of his last 10 games and will have another chance to assert his dominance over the Jays on Wednesday.
  • MIN Third Baseman #23
Of course. Lewis made an immediate impact in his return to Minnesota’s lineup on Tuesday night in New York, taking Yankees veteran reliever Tommy Kahnle deep for a seventh-inning solo shot to left field. The 25-year-old reached base safely in all three of his plate appearances and has two homers in just two games played on the year. The central question for fantasy managers moving forward is whether he can stay on the field for an extended period to establish himself as an elite fantasy contributor at the hot corner.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #81
The breakout sensation of the 2024 campaign so far, Gil kept rolling on Tuesday evening at Yankee Stadium, scattering one hit and three walks over six nearly-flawless frames against a talented Minnesota lineup. He’s emerged as an early AL Cy Young Award contender this season, allowing one earned run or fewer in seven consecutive starts since May 1. The 26-year-old righty won’t be able to sustain these sublime results long-term, but he’s rapidly evolved into a legitimate upper-echelon fantasy contributor, thanks to his ability to consistently miss bats and avoid hard contact. He’ll carry a microscopic 1.82 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 85/34 K/BB ratio across 69 1/3 innings (12 starts) into a challenging matchup on Sunday against the Dodgers.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #45
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Cole will require “at least a few” rehab outings before making his season debut, but he looked extremely sharp in this one. The 33-year-old reigning AL Cy Young Award winner was reportedly sitting in the mid-to-upper 90’s with his fastball and threw 45 pitches (34 strikes). He’ll presumably make another rehab start this weekend and could return to New York’s starting rotation at some point in late June or early July.
  • SD Second Baseman #4
Arraez is back at designated hitter and leading off on Tuesday night in Los Angeles following a brief one-game absence due to relatively minor right shoulder and neck issues. The 27-year-old contact-oriented infielder has been excellent since arriving in San Diego, batting .391 (43-for-110) with one homer and three steals across 26 contests.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #53
It’s a significant hit to Houston’s already razor-thin starting pitching depth as Javier has been a mainstay in their starting rotation for the last three seasons and boasts a stellar 3.59 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 27 percent strikeout rate over 501 innings (116 appearances, 82 starts) in the majors since 2020. Given the timing of the procedure, he’s likely to miss the overwhelming majority of the 2025 campaign as well.
  • SD Starting Pitcher
Mazur draws the starting assignment on Tuesday night for his big-league debut against the Angels in Los Angeles following an impressive 10-start run this season between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A El Paso where he posted a 3.86 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 50/9 K/BB ratio across 51 1/3 innings of work. The 23-year-old righty doesn’t miss a ton of bats, but he’s displayed exemplary control throughout his minor-league tenure since being selected in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft. He’s a borderline top-15 pitching prospect, who has yet to debut, in dynasty leagues at the moment. He’s at least worthy of a speculative roster spot in extremely deep mixed leagues.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #39
Díaz threw a bullpen session on Tuesday without any issues and the Mets are hoping to have one of their primary closing options back on June 11, when first eligible to return. The electrifying 30-year-old righty hit the injured list back in late May with a right shoulder impingement. He’s struggled this season, but remains arguably the best option for New York manager Carlos Mendoza moving forward over Adam Ottavino, Jake Diekman and Reed Garrett.
