| CLG, via WWW, 07 September 2010 (The Samuel Goldwyn Company was founded in 1979 by Samuel Goldwyn, Jr., the son of the famous mogul, to produce and distribute independent films. In 1991, SGC merged with Heritage Entertainment and was later renamed as "Samuel Goldwyn Entertainment". In 1996, the company and its library were acquired by Metromedia and merged with Orion Pictures Corporation, and was later sold to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1997, where the rights stand today. In 2001, Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. founded Samuel Goldwyn Films to continue releasing independent films. However, The Samuel Goldwyn Company did not have an animated logo until 1982.
