About the Show

MTV and ServiceNation present "Be the Change: Live From the Inaugural," anchored from President-elect Obama's official Youth Inaugural Ball. The show celebrates the huge youth-voter turnout in the 2008 presidential election and honors community service.

President-elect Obama plans to address the audience during the star-studded affair. The program also features exclusive performances by Kanye West, Kid Rock and Fall Out Boy live from the official Youth Inaugural Ball at the Hilton Washington in Washington, D.C.

MTV News' Sway Calloway will host the event, with special reports on activism from MTV News Correspondents Kim Stolz and Tim Kash and MTV Tr3s VJ Carlos Santos.

MTV and ServiceNation -- in collaboration with City Year, Heart of America and D.C. Cares -- will lead a group of 200 young volunteers in a makeover project at Simon Elementary School in Washington, D.C.; Youth volunteers with St. Bernard Project will work around the clock to rebuild the home of one hurricane victim in New Orleans; MTV will work with a Columbia University student/ Millennium Promise volunteer as he helps build a computer lab at Omindo Primary in Lihanda, Kenya -- near President-elect Obama's ancestral home.
