Pitbull and Christina Aguilera’s request is reasonable enough: the pop stars just want to feel this moment. Who wouldn’t? After years of success — with Xtina singles littering Top 40 radio in the early 2000s, and Pitbull tracks doing the same in the early 2010s — the artists have combined for a “Feel This Moment” music video that demonstrates how their respective moments often feature large, happy crowds in front of them.
The A-ha-sampling single from Pitbull’s “Global Warming” album receives a music video that shows Pitbull being a Cool Guy — you know, wearing sleek suits, hanging out in fancy hotel rooms, looking serious while on a cell phone call and commanding massive crowds with mic in hand. Aguilera is relegated to a leather-jacket-clad supporting player here, shimmying in front of spotlights and mouthing along to Pitbull’s shoot-out to the 305.
“Feel This Moment” continues to make moves on the Hot 100, this week reaching a new peak by jumping from No. 18-13. The track, which pulls from A-ha’s No. 1 hit “Take on Me” and credits the group as co-writers, marks the Norwegian pop group’s second-highest charting hit to date, after “Take on Me” topped the Hot 100 in 1985.
