The travel website's reviewers like a lot about what the tours have to offer, and it all starts with the docents.

The Chicago Architecture Foundation river cruise operated by Chicago-based First Lady Cruises is tops in the eyes of TripAdvisor.com users.

The cruise spotlighting the city's wide range of architectural highlights as seen from the Chicago River has been named one of TripAdvisor's "Top 10 Tours" in the United States. The architecture cruise was the only Midwest tour to make it on to the new list.

The top tours were designated based on the quality and quantity of reviews and opinions from millions of TripAdvisor users. Weight was given to reviews submitted within the past 12 months. According to TripAdvisor reviewers, the docents on board are what make the Chicago Architecture Foundation cruises really stand out. Each docent working with the Foundation and First Lady Cruises combines hours of training with a passion for the city's architecture to help make the tours memorable for tourists and local residents alike.

One TripAdvisor reviewer named Andy R. summed up the Chicago Architecture Foundation river cruises this way: "This is the most informative boat tour I've ever been on, and I've been on many in the United States, Europe and Asia."

The architecture tours on the Chicago River will continue through the fall and are scheduled to end for the season on Nov. 22.
