The Strong National Museum of Play is hosting Under the Sea Weekend from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8. Ocean-themed activities will include opportunities to learn about starfish and seashells and try on scuba gear, meet-and-greets with costumed characters (including mermaids Tory and Katfish) and access to the museum’s Rainbow Reef, 1,700-gallon coral reef aquarium. Kadan Bart Rockett and Brooklyn, featuring the world’s youngest professional magician/illusionist, continues through Sunday, Jan. 8, at Downstairs Cabaret at Winton Place in Brighton. Kaden, who is 11 years old, and his assistant sister, Brooklyn Nicole Rockett, who is two years younger, were finalists on Season 11 of NBC’s America’s Got Talent. Sylvia, a comedy about empty nesters who adopt a dog — a move that threatens their marriage — opens Tuesday, Jan. 10, on Geva Theatre Center’s Wilson Stage and continues through Sunday, Feb. 5.
