Jan Yamane served as the acting Hawaii State Auditor from the end of 2012 until May 1, 2016. She temporarily filled the vacancy left by Marion Higa, who retired at the end of 2012 until the state legislature selected Les Kondo to be the new state auditor.[1][2]
Biography
Prior to serving as acting auditor, Yamane worked in the state auditor's office for over ten years. She was serving as deputy auditor in November 2012 when then-auditor Marion Higa announced her resignation. By law Yamane then became acting auditor.[3]

Yamane began serving as acting Hawaii State Auditor when Marion Higa resigned at the end of 2012. Although Yamane expressed interest in succeeding Higa, the legislature ultimately selected Les Kondos, the former head of the state's ethics commission.[3][4]
