**Finally, I can't help but wonder why you used that tone with your last sentence. *Endorse deletion. Valid AfD. Please read WP:RS, and do not get offended by people's tone - comments here are simply curt and efficient, not meant to be offensive. Themindset 19:35, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

The protomen
Overturnarticle for deletion review:The protomen
they have since the deletion been mentioned by a VERY notable magazine, Electronic Gaming Monthly , please reconsider deletion.Hellionzod
: Here is the entire content of that article reproduced in full:
::the protomen are a self discribed sound band.they have self-produced a debut rock opera entitled hope rides alone based apon the megaman series of video games.the album is currently only avaliable from their website
: Endorse deletion. As to whether a proper article could be written on this band, I leave that to the reader since I don't care enough about them to try and sort the wheat from the chaff among the few hundred unique Googles, some, all or none of which may be relevant. Guy 16:46, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
Endorse deletion. Hellionzod provides no link to support his contention of a mention in Electronic Gaming Monthly, so the request is moot. --Aaron 19:05, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
*Endorse deletion. While I agree that EGM is very notable, a mention anywhere is not enough to support an article, nor is it enough to pass WP:MUSIC. They seem to be on the right track though, and given more time and media coverage, perhaps they'll pass WP:MUSIC soon. *Endorse deletion. Especially considering that the earth has not been salted, and that if they were to recreate the article it would be much better to start from scratch. Themindset 19:29, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Real Synthetic Audio

AFD: Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Real_Synthetic_Audio

I think the main beef with the people who voted for the deletion was that its "longest running" claim wasn't substantiated. The show has been running since 1998 [1], which predates even most commercial radio station's streaming web feed. I can ask the owner of the net radio show to provide hit counters and logs if you want proof. It probably doesn't prove that it is the 'longest running' net radio show, but certainly proves that it was a pioneer show and still gets 15000 listeners every month, which is on par with or better than many college radio stations that are listed on wiki.

I think removing the unprovable claim and letting the article live would have been a less drastic solution. -- Flabreque 23:55, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Endorse Deletion Valid AFD. The AFD discussion evidences no reason to keep the article other than that unproven claim. The potential proof that was alluded to above would constitute original research. Get that published in an independent reliable source, then write a new article citing the sources. • Endorse deletion Valid AfD. As for the "longest running" claim, I'd say it's dubious at least. The Internet radio article lists examples going back tp 1993, with a number of commercial stations beginning in 1994, so the idea that it took all the way until 1998 for the "longest running" show to get started strikes me as tough to believe. I'm no expert in the subject and cannot give a definitive answer, but as is often said here, extraodinary claims require extraordinary proof. • First, to both of you, thanks for clearing up the fact that even without the "claim", this article would not have been notable and still be subject to deletion.
    • Secondly, to GRBerry, I'm not sure I understand your comment about the original research. Is linking to Archive.org considered original research? Not a reliable source?
    • Finally, I can't help but wonder why you used that tone with your last sentence. I know written text doesn't convey emotions very well, but it looks like you are telling me to take a flying leap. -- Flabreque 21:57, 22 September 2006 (UTC) Disclosure: I am neither the author of the article, nor the owner of the net radio show in question.[reply]
