Dubliner Cathy Davey will release her fourth studio LP on September 9.

New Forest is the musicians fourth studio album, her first album in 6 years.

Over the last six years Davey has spend time teaching music at BIMM in Dublin, setting up an animal charity, making music with Neil Hannon and Paul Noonan to name a few.

Davey’s return is very welcomed, since her debut with 2004′s Something Ilk she has become one of Ireland’s most loved female singer-songwriters.

Her follow-up albums Tales of the Silversleeve in 2007 and her number one record The Nameless in 2010 proved this lady ain’t no one trick pony.

The first commercial single release from the album is The Pattern revealed last month. Davey will play Electric Picnic at the end of this month.

The songs which feature on the forthcoming release were written in Connemara in the West of Ireland. Recording took place in a cabin in the middle of a forest near Galway - over a 6 week period. Production on the album is largely done by the artist herself. Stephen O’Brien from Irish band Hal also assisted on demo’s and music arrangement.

The artwork for New Forest  has been revealed (see above), tracklisting and future live dates are yet to be released. In the meantime check out this very special promo video

The album will be launched at Electric Picnic 2016 at the end of August.
