An array of dramas and action series from different genres are set to roll out in the latter half of this year.

MBC will be releasing two period dramas ― "My Dearest" and "Flower That Blooms at Night" ― in the coming months.

"My Dearest," scheduled to premiere next month, is a romance story about a couple during wartime in the 1392-1910 Joseon Kingdom.

Lee Jang-hyun (Namkoong Min) is a mysterious man who makes his way into the world out of nowhere. He appears to be a lighthearted person on the surface, but underneath, he keeps a deep and dark secret that he can't share with anyone else.

Yoo Gil-chae (Ahn Eun-jin), a lovely woman from a noble family, gets entangled in his life, and thereby changes the world. The two find love and endure the struggles of the Qing Dynasty invasion in the 1630s.

The series is led by Kim Sung-yong, who directed Namkoong's previous action series "The Veil" (2021), and is scripted by writer Hwang Jin-young, who penned the 2017 period drama "The Rebel."

Star director Jang Tae-yoo, who led the 2015 hit rom-com series "My Love from the Star," will be helming the upcoming comedy period drama "Flower That Blooms at Night."

The series will revolve around a widow, Jo Yeo-hwa (Lee Ha-nee), who married into the country's most prestigious noble family. After losing her husband 15 years before, she has been living a quiet, secluded life at home. But in reality, she is living a double life outside of her house, jumping the property's wall every night to help people in need.

Park Soo-ho (Lee Jong-won) is a senior officer who has been searching for the truth behind his father's death. When he meets Jo, his life turns upside down.

Netflix will be releasing big-budget action series, including the second season of its hit series.

The much-awaited title, "Gyeongseong Creature," is about a young man, Jang Tae-sang (Park Seo-joon), and a woman, Yoon Chae-ok (Han So-hee), fighting monsters in the grim era of 1945. As they struggle for survival against the creatures born out of human greed, they face questions about the dignity of human life.

The series is led by Jung Dong-yoon, who previously directed SBS' 2019 hit sport series "Hot Stove League," and is scripted by Kang Eun-kyung, who wrote the 2016 hit medical series "Dr. Romantic."

The platform will also release season 2 of the horror action series "Sweet Home" this year.

The apocalyptic series follows a troubled teenager named Cha Hyung-soo (Song Kang) and his neighbors, fighting to survive in a world filled with monsters that are trying to wipe out humanity.

The new season will follow Cha and the other survivors finding a new refuge away from their apartment building. It will invite new actors, including Yu Oh-seong who will play a Special Forces officer, and Oh Jung-se who will play a scientist researching a vaccine.

TvN's blockbuster action series "Arthdal Chronicles" is returning with a second season this September, after roughly four years.

The series, set in the mythical land of Arth, follows the story of its inhabitants and its surrounding regions striving for power and domination as they build a new society.

Season 2 of "Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon," will pick up eight years after Ta Gon (Jang Dong-gun) became the king of Arthdal in the previous season. Eun Seom (Lee Joon-gi) is the ruler of the Agos, uniting 30 tribes under the Ago Union. Ta and Eun are set to face an inevitable great war against each other's kingdoms.

The new season is led by filmmaker Kim Kwang-sik, whose previous work includes the 2018 war film "The Great Battle," and is scripted by the first season's writers Kim Young-hyun and Park Sang-yeon.
