Starchitect Slight! Kelsey Grammer Trades 15 Central Park West for 100 11th

Has Jean Nouvel’s 100 11th Avenue topped Robert A.M. Stern’s 15 Central Park West? Probably not, since the price-per-square foot

Has Jean Nouvel’s 100 11th Avenue topped Robert A.M. Stern’s 15 Central Park West? Probably not, since the price-per-square foot in the record-setting prewar wannabe is still twice that of its downtown neighbor. Nevertheless, Kelsey Grammer is among the converts, having traded his $29,000-per-month three-bedroom on the park for a $6.5 million four-bedroom on the Hudson.

In an unusual twist, the Post is reporting that the purchase was supposed to be kept top secret, presumably so Grammer’s second wife, Camille Donatacci Grammer, does not use it against him in their ongoing divorce proceedings. He will be shacking up with the 28-year-old flight attendant he is now dating.

The apartment, according to Holly Parker and Tricia Ridell‘s Elliman listing, sprawls across 3,100-square-feet on half of the 19th floor, replete with those signature windows and a brooding Nouvel-designed fireplace. Wonder what he thinks of the stark lobby? The original asking price was $7.52 million.

Curbed spotted Grammer looking at an apartment just up the street, as well, in 200 11th Avenue, the Annabelle Selldorf building with its famous sky garages. He would have been more among his “kind” in that building, including Nicole Kidman and Domenico Dolce of Dolce & Gabana. But his new neighbors aren’t nobodies, either, including the founder of the world’s top webcam service and the son of British starchitect Richard Rogers. Plus, with plenty of penthouse and high-floor units left, 100 11th has more room than its neighbor for more blockbuster deals.
