The Donald to Get New Wife, Radio Show

There are apparently two more major acquisitions on the horizon in the Donald Trump empire: a new wife (his third) and a new medium (his own radio show).

First, on the homefront: The New York-based real-estate mogul and The Apprentice star, 57, proposed on Monday night to his live-in companion of the past five years, raven-haired Slovenian model Melania Knauss, 33, the New York Post reports.

“Well, we’ve had a great relationship, we’ve been together for five years and it was really time,” Trump said in an interview on Thursday’s Live with Regis and Kelly. “And you know Melania is a great woman, a great person and I’m really happy about it.”

The betrothal news first surfaced after Knauss was spotted with a blinding diamond engagement ring on her left hand (above three equally blinding diamond bracelets).

Trump’s two previous marriages ended in divorce. The first, to Ivana, lasted from 1977-1990 and produced three children: Donald Jr., born 1977; Ivanka, 1981; and Eric, 1984.

The marriage broke up bitterly over Trump’s girlfriend and next wife, aspiring actress Marla Maples, whom he married in December 1993, the same year their daughter, Tiffany, was born in October. The couple divorced in 1999.

Trump says there’s no date set for his latest walk down the aisle, but the wedding will happen “at some point over the next not-too-long a period of time.”

On Thursday’s Live, Kelly Ripa also joked with Trump about his younger fiancee. “I’m very devastated that you’re no longer on the market,” she said.

After Trump noted that Ripa was happily married, she said, “I didn’t mean for me, I meant for my daughter.”

On the radio front, Trump will use the Clear Channel network (which recently dumped Howard Stern from six of its stations amid the FCC’s indecency crackdown) to launch a national daily, morning drive-time radio show, “Trumped!” starting June 15, the company said Wednesday.

For 60 to 90 seconds, he’ll express whatever’s on his mind, while on Fridays he’ll explain what he did the night before on Apprentice 2.

“I like to state my views,” Trump tells USA Today about the new venture. In a prepared statement released by Clear Channel, he added: “The personal connection Americans have with radio makes it a strong fit for the commentary and advice I’ll be sharing. Business, entertainment, politics, the media — watch out, you’re all fair game.”
