Kanye West Says New Album Coming This Summer

Kanye West just released his latest album, The Life of Pablo. Today, he said the follow-up is coming much sooner than expected. "New album coming this summer," he tweeted. Update (2/27 12:11 a.m. EST): Kanye west has tweeted the tentative title for his next album: Turbo Grafx 16. Check out his announcement tweets explaining the title below.

The tease of a new album came in the middle of an extended monologue (which can be found below) in which he talked about the Grammys, his personal debt, and more. "Hi Grammys this is the most important living artist talking," he said, before proclaiming A$AP Rocky's "L$D" the best video of the year, asking whether anyone at the Grammys has heard Future's "March Madness," and commenting, "we need to see Young Thug at the Grammys."

He also said: "You like your black people a certain way also. You wouldn't have Future perform and that man owned the clubs last summer."

Additionally, he talked about his recent revelation that he has $53 million of personal debt. "I wrote Saint Pablo after admitting to my greatest shame my personal debt," he said. "But I'm not ashamed anymore." He talked about respecting paparazzi because they work hard, and said "there is no true freedom without economic freedom."

Update (3:53 p.m.EST ): Neil Portnow, the CEO of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (which presents the Grammys), responded to Kanye's comments in an e-mail to The Fader:
