Having previously announced a premiere month, HBO Max has now set an actual premiere date for its 10-episode Sex and the City revival series.
And Just Like That… will debut Thursday, Dec. 9 with its first two episodes, followed by weekly releases on subsequent Thursdays.
The news was made official on Friday, along with the release of a new teaser trailer that offers a closer look at what we can expect from the show’s return.
The Sex and the City revival, which was formally announced in January, reunites original stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis as best friends Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte “as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s,” per the official logline.
Chris Noth, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Willie Garson (who tragically passed away in September) and Evan Handler will return, as well. But Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones in all six seasons and both movies, will not be part of the revival. New additions include Sara Ramírez, Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker and Karen Pittman.

This looks cute, however, I’m still baffled by the fashion decisions for the three main women. I’ll check this out. Looks good. Hoping we get subsequent seasons, too!
Looks terrible and as if it was made just to be woke, plus I will boycott without Samantha. I do not support back stabbing.
Woke = alert to injustice in society, especially racism.
Read a book, bigot.
I’m glad they brought back the men!! Sad the person who put s$$ in the city left the city!! Haha I want to see how these ladies navigate changing times older and hopefully wiser! I never watched original until it went into syndication and loved it!! I still remember my daughters (one was at Juilliard)and I shopping in Manhattan looked up at the screen in a store Destiny’s Child’s SATC video was on. We laughed so hard because that’s how we felt having a ball before we head back home on bus trip! JHud sings my fave movie theme! How ironic my buckeye accepted job at a “major” media company in Manhattan joked sh needs to step up fashion game!!
It’s going to be so bittersweet to watch Willie Garson. He always played such quirky characters that you loved.
I have always loved the series. It was so well done. The movies, not so much. That being said, I’ll miss Samantha but she didn’t make the series for me. It was all of the women and if she declined to return–then so be it. I am glad to finally see some diversity which was absolutely missing from the series. I will keep my expectations low but looking forward to watching this.
I thought it was just me that loved all the women and not just Samantha. Bummed that she’s not part of this, but still interested in seeing the remaining characters again. Rooting for them to pull this off.
I won’t be watching but I know this show has die hard fans so I hope it’s good for them.
I Loved Sex&the City and the movies . So excited to watch Just Like That! Missed the show
