LONDON — Richard Goleszowski is set to direct “The Tortoise and the Hare,” which is being developed as the second film from Aardman Animation under its deal with DreamWorks.

Goleszowski is the creator and director of Aardman TV series “Rex the Runt,” as well as numerous TV commercials utilizing the company’s distinctive claymation technique.

Aardman’s first full-length feature for DreamWorks, “Chicken Run,” was co-directed by Nick Park and Peter Lord. It is due for release in June.

Aesop’s fable next

The Bristol, England-based company has struck a deal for four more pics with DreamWorks. “The Tortoise and the Hare,” based loosely on Aesop’s fable, is penciled in as the next project.

Goleszowski has been part of the Aardman family since joining the company in 1983. He stayed for nine years, working on projects including Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer” video and “Pee Wee’s Playhouse” in New York before going freelance.
