Shonda Rhimes’ upcoming drama “The Catch” is being handled — or rather, recast.
Damon Dayoub, who was set to play the male lead, opposite Mireille Enos, is being recast, Variety has learned. The actor is set for a long recurring arc in crime procedural “Stitchers,” premiering this June on ABC Family.
Bethany Joy Lenz is also being recast in “The Catch.”
The “One Tree Hill” alum announced the news Monday night via WhoSay, posting, “Looks like they need a different type for Zoe, so I’ll be replaced, but please still watch! It really is such a good show and I’m so proud of my friends’ work!”
“The Catch” is just one of many shows recasting, before their series premieres for the 2015-16 season.
“Quantico,” another ABC drama, is recasting the role of FBI Special Agent Liam O’Connor, originally set to be played by Dougray Scott, Variety has learned.

Over at the CW, “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” is recasting Michael McDonald, who was set to play Rebecca’s (Rachel Bloom) new boss at the West Covina law firm, after she relocates to track down her ex-boyfriend, in the comedy. McDonald’s recasting will be one of many changes to the series, including toned-down language, as the laffer shifts from Showtime to the younger-skewing broadcast network.
The “Criminal Minds” spinoff, “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders,” is recasting the female lead, since “Breaking Bad” alum Anna Gunn dropped out after the planted episode, which aired earlier this year in the flagship series.
