In a pre-Toronto Film Festival announcement, the Bron group of companies — Bron Studios, genre label the Realm, Bron Releasing and Bron Animation — have reorganized under a new parent company, Bron Media Corp.

The Vancouver-based company has hired financial veteran Daniel D. McClure as president and chief operating officer. CEO Aaron L. Gilbert made the announcement Wednesday.

Bron Studios will premiere a trio of titles at the Toronto International Film Festival — “I Saw The Light,” starring Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen; “Into the Forest,” staring Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood; and “Hyena Road,” written and directed by Paul Gross.

McClure was most recently CEO of Toronto-based CQI Capital Management. He’s worked in investment banking with Scotia Capital Markets and Morgan Stanley, and as a portfolio manager and then an executive with Investors Group Inc.

“We have reached a critical point in the growth of our various production entities where it was important to bring on an executive like Dan with deep experience in financial management and corporate organization,” Gilbert said. “This is an excellent time to be a producer of film and television content, given the growth in market demand from new digital distribution platforms and the emerging middle class in developing markets.”

Bron also said it continues to expand its relationship with Jason Cloth and his CW Media Finance, which has backed more than $125 million of its productions in the last 18 months. Cloth will join the Bron Media board.
