| Bourne and Kraatz have been skating together since 1991. They were the first ice dancers to include hydro |
| blading elements in their routines. Victor Kraatz was born in Berlin and grew up in Switzerland before moving |
| to Canada with his mother. Besides speaking German and English fluently, he also knows French. The team |
| was forced to miss the 2000 Four Continents and World Championships, because Bourne underwent knee |
| surgery. The couple changed coaches in the spring of 2000. |
