Flood waters isolate Palo
The Gazette
PALO -
Palo has been virtually isolated as floodwaters have covered all roads into town, emergency management coordinators said Thursday afternoon.
Even though a mandatory evacuation was announced for all 890 residents Wednesday, some who refused to leave their homes became trapped by flash flooding, said Mike Nesslage, emergency management incident coordinator. Emergency rescuers and National Guard soldiers are hauling those residents out now by boat and Humvee, Nesslage said.
