Question John
I'm not sure if this has been asked before I apologize if this is a repeat question. Who wrote the most hit songs for Barry? When he was on martha stewart he said he comes up with ideas for songs then works with other song writers. Also does Barry still work with Marty Panzer and Adrienne Anderson?
Answer I'm glad you qualified the question with the phrase "hit songs", because that's a much smaller list than the total songs. That list of who wrote what, by the way, can be found here: http://members.aol.com/garyoye/barrynet/bmnet260.htm
Of the songs that were actual hits (got airplay on the radio, and singles sales to back it up), two each were written by David Pomeranz {The Old Songs, Tryin' To Get the Feeling Again}, Barry Manilow/Allan Rich/Howie Rice {I'm Your Man, In Search of Love} and Barry & Adrienne Anderson {Could it Be Magic, Daybreak}. Way out in front is the team of Barry Manilow and Marty Panzer {Even Now, It's a Miracle, It's Just Another New Year's Eve, This One's For You}. Marty Panzer, Enoch Anderson, Adrienne Anderson and Bruce Sussman all contributed to Barry's masterpiece, Here at the Mayflower {Concord Records, 2001}, Barry's most recent original album. When Barry was inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, he brought these collaborators with him to the banquet, and introduced them as well, thanking them for making the honor possible. Thanks for writing in! --JB
