FX credits NASCAR for growth

April 11, 2002
9:46 AM EDT (1346 GMT)

When FX televised its first NASCAR event last season, the network was carried in 58.5 million homes. The network currently is in 76.6 million homes and FX President Peter Liguori credits NASCAR with the growth.

Liguori also mentioned in a Wednesday teleconference that FX’s first three NASCAR Busch Series races in 2002 are up 13 percent in household ratings and, because of the increased distribution, FX is up 38 percent in household delivery versus 2001.

The NASCAR Winston Cup Series makes its season debut on FX with Sunday’s Virginia 500, beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
