Weigner - Brent Weigner from Cheyenne, Wyoming: ran in the Samsung Melbourne Marathon in Australia, on Sunday, October 12th, 2008. Brent completion the marathon, for all 7 continents for the 5th time around breaking the current record of four circuits on the seven continents that Brent held.

Koestor - Holly Koestor from Ohio who finished the 50 and DC Marathon circuit. Holly finished her Marathon at the Frank Mier Marathon in Juneau, AK on 08/02/08. Holly is our first Wheelchair racer to do this in a push rim chair.

Weigner - Brent Weigner from Cheyenne, Wyoming: ran in the Gold Coast Marathon at Surfers Paradise, Australia, on Sunday, July 6th, 2008. Brent completion the marathon, for all 7 continents for the 4th time around breaking the current record of three circuits on the seven continents.

Henry Rueden – Henry has completed an inaugural marathon in all the states and DC on 04/26/08. Henry finishes his last inaugural marathon in Nisswa, MN. He ran the Run for the Lakes Marathon.

Henry Rueden - Henry ran his 500th Marathon at the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon in Green Bay, Wisconsin. On May 20, 2007.

Bob Dolphin - Bob ran his 400th marathon at the Yakima River Canyon Marathon in Central Washington State on March 31, 2007. Bob and his wife Lenore are co-directors of this marathon.

Kendel Prescott - Kendel has completed all 50 states and DC for the 4th time. This makes Kendel the youngest 4th time finisher with marathons and ultras of 243. She finishes at the Cairo Marathon in West Virginia on 06/02/07. Great job Kendel!

David Audet - David has completed all 50 states and DC with times under 2:59 hours.

John McFarlane - John is from Newport, England. In 1989, he completed 5 marathons in 5 different continents in 5 consecutive months. John is credited as being the first man to do so in the Guiness Book of Records. Also, in one 12 month period John ran 33 marathons which is still a Scottish record (John was born in Scotland). This is quite and achievement for someone, Great job John!

Chuck Bryant - 47, was an avid runner until he lost his right leg below the knee in a motorcycle crash in 1983.  He was 28 years old.  Bryant’s first prosthesis wasn’t runner-friendly, so he switched to race walking.  But Bryant missing running, so he got a better-fitting prosthesis.  He started with 5-K’s and worked his way up to ultra-marathons.  In May, Bryant, who lives in Miami , finished a marathon in Brookings , South Dakota , becoming the first amputee to complete marathons in all 50 states and Washington , D.C.  This article was provided by Runner’s World magazine that featured Chuck in July 2004. 

Brenton Floyd - 18, youngest member of the 50 & D.C. Marathon Group has completed 200 marathons.  Brenton finished his 200th race in Callaway Gardens, Pine Mountain, Georgia with a PR of 4hrs on February 1st, 2004!

TOM MATTI -"Hi Guy" Tom Matti holds the world record for running 123 marathons in sandals.  He is a 3 year marathoner and has completed 129 marathons so far with only 6 of them done in shoes.  He holds the title of "The Sandal Runner King Of The World". "Hi Guy"'s first year of running he completed 60 marathons with 54 in sandals and took 4 1st places in 2 50K's, a 50 miler, and a marathon the following day..

 
DON MC NELLY - Don holds the record for the most marathons ran after the age of 70 which is 436 !! If that record wasn't enough he also holds the record for most marathons ran at the age of 80 which is 140 and 22 marathons after his 85th birthday. He completed his 100th Ultra after the age of 85 this year. His total marathons/ultras is 707.  What a remarkable man, He hopes to hold the records for at least five more years. Don is also a member of the Japanese running club, Full Hyaku. He was give a special "World's Record" award by the club for the total number of marathons after 60, 70, and 80. But he knows there are runners who are after his records!
 
STEVE ACKERMAN - Steve was an avid runner and skier before he broke his back in a car accident in 1987. Steve started handcycling in 1990, his first big race was the Ride the Rockies, which he continues to do every year. In 1995 World T.E.A.M. Sports invited Steve to embark on a journey of a life-time to cycle around the world in AXA World Ride. Steve crossed 16 countries and handcycled 14,000 miles to circle the world in 8 months time. He is a National Sales director for the Freedom Ryder Handcycles. Steve also is the treasurer and founding board member of the U.S. Handcycling Federation. His favorite quote that keeps him positive is "If you can hold it in you mind, you can hold it in your hand."
 
ARTIE GUERRERO - A former Army Ranger, Artie was shot in the back during the Vietnam War which left him unable to use his legs. Artie's desire to inspire individuals with disabilities has taken him numerous places with World T.E.A.M. Sports including Vietnam where Artie handcycled 1,200 miles with veterans from both sides of the Vietnam War. For the past ten years Artie has worked to raise funds for numerous disabled sports organizations. He continues to bring disability issues to the nations attention in hope of improving them.
 
CARLOS MOLEDA - A former member of the elite U.S. Navy Seal Team. During the panama invasion of 1989, Carlos was shot in the back and leg which left him a paraplegic. In the past 13 years, he has become one of the most accomplished disabled endurance athletes in the world. Carlos is a 2 time National Handcycling Champion as well as a 2 time Ironman Triathlon World Champion for the wheelchair division. He looks forward to continuing competing in sports and also to spread the special message that we all have personal abilities and that we all have the ability to do great things in life.
 
ANDREW KOTULSKI - Andy has spent this past year recovering from a nearly fatal bout of pneumonia and typhoid after finishing a marathon in Russia. He became ill shortly after the marathon and was unable to fly home due to happening the same time as 9-11. He had to endure poor medical attention and language barriers for a week or so until able to fly home. He has run over 400 marathons competitively in all the states, provinces, and some 30 countries. He was a 2:30's marathoner in his 40's and a 1st place age winner in all the states and provinces. Andy continues to run marathons and still places for his age bracket.
 
MATT UPDIKE - Matt was injured in an automobile accident in September of 1997 that left him paralyzed from the chest down. The accident didn't stop Matt from getting right back into competing in the sports world. He began racing on the handcycle circuit in 2000 and went from finishing near the back in his first season to a National Time Trial title and a Bronze Medal at the IPC World Championships in 2002. Matt also competes in marathons with his latest finish in Havana Cuba in November 2002.

DON LANG - Dons running summary which includes 3 world records. He has completed 325 events - 294 marathons and 31 ultras - worldwide, and 65 outside the US. He has completed marathon-ultras in 41 countries. Don completed his 300th marathon in April of 2002. at Boston. In his first ten years of running from August 1992 to August of 2002 at ages 58 to 68 he completed 312 marathons or ultras worldwide, 302 unrepeated completions which is also a world record. He also holds the record for highest and lowest elevation marathons in the world. On December 7th, 2002 he completed the Death Valley Marathon. The whole marathon is done below sea level and is therefore the lowest elevation in the world. On November 2nd, 1996 Don completed the 26.2 mile marathon distance of the Himalayan 100 mile, 5 day Stage race. About 20 miles of marathon is at or above 11,000 feet, and up to 12,000 feet this portion of the marathon is called the Mt. Everest Challenge Marathon.

Burt Carlson, Burt Carlson has (9) USTAF age group first place awards in ultra-marathon championship races. Six golds in 24 hour raod races, two golds in 100K road races, one gold in a 50 mile trail race. Also several silver and bronze awards! The first gold was in 1990 at the Edmund Fitzgerald in Minnesota when it was a TAC World, and US Championship race. This finish made him the first person over age 65 to ever run 100K  road race in Minnesota. 1996 was a good year in that he had age group championships wins in a 24 hour race, in a 100K race, and a 50 mile trail race--a grand slam. In 1997, at age 72, he racked up 935 racing miles! Also held (1) USTAF    National Age Group record for a 12 hour race and (1) USTAF National Age Group Best for the 100K race

Bob "Bart" Bardwell, our first wheeler member, will finish his 100th marathon on september 29.2002 in the Twin Cities.  Bart has raced in over 200 races pushing his wheelchair over 10,000 miles.  In a construction accident in July of 1973 a large bucket was dropped on Barts' back, paralyzing him from the waist down.  Since that time he has become a National Motivational speaker, holds 2 Masters degrees, is a councelor, author, and coach.  Bart also is the founder/director of Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch, Inc., a wheelchair sports camp for youth and family.  He now has his autobiography out called "The Marathons of Life".

Don Lang on June 29th 2002 completed the new Traildawgs 50K in Newark, Delaware.  That event completed his doing all 50 states + DC for the 3rd time.  What no one else has done this, He did it all in different places--- or put another way---He did all 153 events without repeating any. 

Toby Skinner  has completed 50&DC marathons under a variety of weather conditions over a variety of courses, and in a variety of mental and physical conditions!  His overall average time was 2:43.  With a worst of 2:57 and a best of 2:27.  Toby won small marathons in Arkansas, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, Wyoming.  It is believed that Toby has the lowest average finisher time of all our completors. 

Madonna K. Bron was a cancer survivor when she completed 50 & DC as finisher #108.  She continues to run marathons and is currently doing several things for the American Cancer Society

Bill Whipp Completed 50 & DC in 2 1/2 years times. He walked all 50 & DC on the artificial knee. To date he has done 187 marathons and 21 ultras and this will give Bill a total of 208 marathons on an artificial knee. He wants others to have the message that a bad, replaced knee does not mean that you still can't be an athlete! (as of 12/20/08)

Wally Herman is the leader in marathons run in foreign countries. As of May 1,2001 he has run marathons in 97 countries!

Bob Fletcher ran 50 marathons, during 50 weeks, when turning 50. (1983-83) He has authored an interesting book "Spaghetti Every Friday" Ó 1984

Ed Barreto ran 84 marathons in a 52 week period. This is the record for the 50 & DC Marathon Group.

John Bozung became the 1st marathoner from the 50 & DC Marathon Group to complete a marathon on all continents within a years time.

Nancy Broadbridge and Tony Lopetrone became the 1st husband and wife team to complete a marathon in all 50 & DC in one years time (1997). The unique feature was that each marathon was run in the confines of each state.

Jerry Dunn ran 103 official marathon courses in a 52 week period! Jerry would go into the town the day before and run the course (with official escort). Then the next day, he would run the official marathon! Of course, this did not qualify him for an official record! Jerry Dunn realized his goal had ran 200 Marathon distances in year 2000. Jerry ran 17 official races -- 183 solo treks!!!!! Never the less, this is truly a remarkable achievement!

In 1999, Virginia Farneman became the first woman to run a marathon on each of the continents!

Norm Frank continues to hold the 50 & DC Marathon Group record. He has 748 marathons and 162 Ultra's.  He is now at 910 marathons.

Don Lang was the 1st 50 & DC Group member to complete all 50 states and DC circuits twice, with the 3rd time being at a different location in each of the states.  This is also a worlds record!

Ed Burnham completed all 50 & DC after turning 70! Ed, now 83, has just completed 133rd marathon in Tulsa, 2002.  He is still running the marathon distance often.

Sharon Mordorski is the first woman to run marathons in all 50 states & DC, plus being the 1st 50 & DC'er to complete the circuit twice!

Ray Scharenbrock continues to run the 50 states & DC. His latest accomplishment is the 8th time around!

During 1999, Brent Weigner , the first to run an ultra on each continent, shortened his time frame to 267 days.

Rick Worley was the 1st 50 & DC Marathon Group Member to complete a marathon in all 50 & DC during a calendar year (1997). He also has run 200 marathons in 159 consecutive weekends.  He has also been included in the 2003 edition of the Guiness Book of World Records for his accomplishments!

Brenton Taylor Floyd , at age 16, finished all 50 & DC on 07-01-01 at Snow Mountain! OUR Youngest Finisher!

John Wallace ran 31 International Marathons in 31 Countries across 3 Continents -- Asia, Africa, & Europe -- in one years time. (May21, 1999 to May 20, 2000)

Zach VanBlack , at age 31, because the youngest "adult" member to complete the circuit at the age of 33. He has also become the youngest member to complete the circuit twice!

Carol Dellinger is the youngest woman to reach 100 marathons she accomplished number 100 in April 1998 at the age of 35.

Ira Robinson became the first member to finish the 50 and DC circuit as a "neck breather".  Ira had throat cancer 4 years prior to running marathons and has fought it twice more since his start.  The second time he had to endure chemo and radiation and the third time he lost the upper right lobe of his lung.  Ira also suffered from a running accident at a trail marathon in which another participant slide into him at the bottom of a snow cornice and broke 5 of his ribs and punctured his lung. Ira states "I'm ready for round two!"

Brenton Floyd - 18, youngest member of the 50 & D.C. Marathon Group has completed 300 marathons. Brenton finished his 300th race at the Knoxville Marathon, in Knoxville, Tennessee on March 26th, 2006!

Brenton Taylor Floyd , at age 21, finished all 50 & DC for the 2nd time on 09-02-06 at Tantalus Triple Trek 50k in Honolulu Hawaii. Brenton is your Youngest 2nd time Finisher!

John Wallace , John Wallace ( Maddog ) has ran in a 100 Country and holds the world-record for running a Marathon in all 100 Countries. John set his record on Feb. 8, in the French Polynesian island of Moorea.

Ray Scharenbrock - Ray for finishing the 50 & DC Marathon Group circuit for the 10th time. Ray has been running for many years to complete this goal.
