Critics Call Obama Attending IOC Vote A Must |
Next Friday, Chicago 2016 will know its fate. While all eyes look to the final presentations in Copenhagen, the key outstanding issue remains an on-site appearance by President Obama, and to us, it is looking more and more likely that he will make a visit to Denmark to support the bid. With the race among the bid cities very close, an Obama moment could be enough to sway the outcome, and Chicago bid officials clearly would relish his visible support. UNIVERSAL SPORTS’ Alan Abrahamson aggressively calls out Obama for his wishy-washy stance, as a Chicago Games "would be worth billions of dollars" in a down economy. Abrahamson: "All that -- and yet the president, who used to live just blocks from where the Olympic Stadium would be located, can't make it to Copenhagen to pitch the project?"
