To the Intercollegiate Sailing community...


I personally am thrilled that the ICSA has transformed the Sloop program into a Match Racing program beginning in the Fall of 2010. To use the skiing levels, match racing is a Black Diamond in sailboat racing, requiring advanced skills in boat handling, making a boat go fast, and tactical decision making to be successful. Any of us who have match raced have seen our fleet racing directly improved by the intense challenges match racing provides. Simply put, when you match race, it is often as if someone has run a 2000 volt cable into you...it is intense, electrifying and sometimes terrifying!
