The Internet Speculative Fiction DataBase (ISFDB) has found a new home: The Cushing Library Science Fiction and Fantasy Research Collection and Institute for Scientific Computation at Texas A&M; University.

In January, many users were disappointed to find that searching the ISFDB was no longer available. Previously hosted by SFSite, and then by your-site.com the data base used too much resources (size, bandwidth, processes, and system resources) to run at a typical ISP on a small budget.

The ISFDB is an effort to catalog works of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror. It links together various types of bibliographic data: author bibliographies, publication bibliographies, award listings, magazine content listings, anthology and collection content listings, yearly fiction indexes, and forthcoming books. It consists of a database compiler, a database engine, and the actual data files themselves. The database contains about 100000 titles (with about 21000 novels, 50000 short stories, with the rest miscellaneous), 20000 authors, and roughly 18000 award entries.
