After a less than fabulous start to the new year -- forgetting the lyrics to the National Anthem at the Superbowl and taking a spill on stage at the 2011 Grammys -- Christina Aguilera is coming out swinging as the sole female judge on NBC's new hit talent competition show 'The Voice.' Christina has worn every hat from 'Genie in a Bottle,' to 'Dirrty' girl, to single mom, but here are some fun facts about the ever-evolving 'Voice' star you might not know.
10. Reality Competition Street Cred
Before she starred on the judges' panel of 'The Voice,' Christina was on the other side of the judges' table as a contestant on a reality talent show competition. She made her national television at nine years old as a contestant on the 'Star Search' singing 'A Sunday Kind of Love' but couldn't bring home the gold, coming in as runner-up in the competition.

9. The Diva
When Christina was just a girl of 13, her 'Mickey Mouse Club' co-stars, including Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Ryan Gosling and Keri Russell nicknamed her "the Diva." It looks like Christina started working on her infamous performance persona early. Once a diva, always a diva!

8. Too Cool for School
Following her early television appearances, Christina's classmates had a hard time playing nice on the playground with a rising superstar. Young Tina experienced resentment and bullying, including an incident in which her peers slashed the tires on her family's car. The haters drove Christina to pull out of school and continue her education with homeschooling.

7. Latina Christina
Christina's Ecuadorian father, Fausto Wagner Xavier Aguilera, makes her half Ecuadorian. She has an entirely Spanish-language album 'Mi Reflejo,' which won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Album in 2001. Despite all this and being raised by Spanish teacher mom Shelly, Christina is not fluent in the language.

6. United Nations Ambassador Aguilera
Aguilera is a UN ambassador for the World Food Programme. In 2009 she became the global spokesperson for World Hunger Relief effort appearing in advertisements, online campaigns and a public service announcement. Since becoming a global spokeswoman for WFP Aguilera has helped raise over $22 million, providing over 90 million meals to the hungry.

5. The Voice

4. Plenty of Piercings
By 2004, Christina had 11 of her infamous 'Stripped'-era piercings removed, with the exception of the one in her right nipple. She admitted she punctured and bejeweled her body as a release during troubled times in her life.

She may have removed most of her piercings, but Christina still has all five of her tattoos. her ink art includes "Xtina" on the back of her neck, a tatt above her left hip, one on her left wrist, "Te Amo Siempre" ("I love you, always") on her left elbow and a Hebrew psalm lyric translating to "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine" on her lower back.
