GRAMMER--Sally . Sally Cranmer Grammer, mother of Kelsey Grammer (1928-2008) passed away peacefully on July 7 at her home, at the Sherwood Country Club in Westlake, California. Mrs. Grammer died of natural causes. She was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Grammer (1975) and her husband Frank Allen Grammer, Jr. who was killed in 1968. Following the tragic death of her daughter, Mrs. Grammer endured the past 33 years with grace and laughter in spite of a broken heart. Grammer was a four time president of Tarzana Women's Republican Club. She was president of the organization at the time of her death. She was also a member of the Sherwood Country Club and the Kiwanis Club. She is survived by her son Kelsey and his wife Camille, and three grandchildren, Spencer, Mason and Jude. According to her son Kelsey ''I was proud to be the son of Sally Grammer. I will miss her laughter.'' Grammer, who was a dancer and actress, performed under the name of Sally Sullivan. She was educated at Valedean, a private girl's prep school in New Jersey, before continuing her education at the David Mannes School of Music in Manhattan. She met her husband at the school. Her father, Gordon Savage Cranmer, was a retired colonel in the Untied States Army and a former executive with Chevron Oil in New York. Her mother, Evangeline Dimick Cranmer, was a Roaring 20s Flapper. Funeral services are pending.
