FIMUCITÉ 4 Welcome Message from the Director

FIMUCITÉ 4, our 2010 Edition comes to see the light after a project development full of complications. All of us involved in the process will remember this moment as critical but with a happy ending.

In the previous edition presentation I made reference to the global economic crisis recognizing it was certainly present, as it couldn´t be otherwise, but even so the festival was not very affected by it.

This year the crisis has dangerously menaced our festival without success. Under the current circumstances FIMUCITÉ 4 wouldn’t have been able to materialize. But the team, the staff that makes up the festival is extraordinary. We have had the great fortune of creating a family whose members are fully aware of what has been achieved in just three years, and to what extent, to this day, the FIMUCITÉ name is internationally known within the film music industry, consolidating itself as an important reference. We have invested our hearts and souls, effort, perseverance, hundreds of hours of work in these four years of management, more than 28 hours of music performed live, recorded, filmed, edited, mixed and mastered within months of work after the closing of each edition. Let us not forget the immense work of coordination and literary creation to take forward our editorial adventures and the creation of FIMUCITÉ Channel for the delight of the fans who wish to see parts of our live...

  • FIMUCITÉ concludes its fourth edition
    with the resounding success of the two symphonic concerts

    Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 12th July 2010

    The FIMUCITÉ Awards were presented on Saturday 10 to the late Alex North and to John Williams for his lifetime achievements

    The fourth edition of the Tenerife International Film Music Festival, sponsored by Cabildo Insular, The Canary Islands Government and Santa Cruz and La Laguna City Councils, concluded with a remarkable closing concert and a great standing ovation from the audience in the Tenerife Auditorium.

    Legendary composers John Williams and the late Alex North will be the protagonists of FIMUCITÉ 4’s closing concert today Saturday at 21:00 at the Tenerife Auditorium.

    Both composers will offer a panel in Espacio Cultural de CajaCanarias at 17:00. The screenings of 'Munich' and the 'Caprica' marathon will complete today’s program

    The Tenerife Auditorium will host at 21:00 one of the most expected events of FIMUCITÉ 4: Bruno Coulais and Bear McCreary’s concerts, two of the most worldwide outstanding composers. The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Diego Navarro, and The Tenerife Film Choir, directed by Cristina Farrais as the Choir Master, will delight the audience with Coulais’ compositions. Then, McCreary will conduct the world première of the “Battlestar Galactica Symphony”. The event will be hosted by Nancy Knutsen, ASCAP’s consultant, and reporter Andrés Brito. Leer más
