Once Upon a Time in Anatolia Blu-ray

French distributors Memento Films have revealed that they are planning to release on Blu-ray Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan's (Climates, Three Monkeys) Once Upon a Time in Anatolia (2011). Earlier this year, the film won the Grand Prize of the Jury (Best Film) at the Cannes Film Festival.

The French branch of Universal Studios has set a preliminary release date for directors David Foenkinos and St�phane Foenkinos' La d�licatesse a.k.a Nathalie (2011), starring Audrey Tautou (Amelie), Audrey Fleurot (Midnight in Paris), Fran�ois Damiens (Heartbreaker), and Bruno Todeschini (Switch). The preliminary release date set by the studio is May 23.

For the week ending 12/25/11, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, topped the Blu-ray sales chart for the fourth time. The last film in the popular Harry Potter series was a huge success for Warner Bros. as it finished its theatrical run with an amazing worldwide total of $1.3 billion. Harry and friends enchanted 40% of their total disc sales from Blu-ray buyers.

Next month, Twilight Time will bring both Picnic and The Roots of Heaven to Blu-ray. Picnic is director Joshua Logan's 1955 screen adaptation of the popular William Inge play, while The Roots of Heaven finds director John Huston (The African Queen) telling a story of adventure and wildlife conservation in French Equitorial Africa. Picnic and The Roots of Heaven street on January 17th, 2012.

Austrian distributors NSM have revealed that they are planning to release a 3-disc set (BD/2DVD) of director Michael Armstrong's (The Haunted House of Horror) controversial Mark of the Devil (1970), starring Udo Kier (Flesh for Frankenstein), Herbert Lom (The Dead Zone), Reggie Nalder (Salem's Lot), and Herbert Fux (Eugenie). The preliminary release date set by the distributors is March 16th.

Next year, Paramount Home Entertainment and Dreamworks will bring Puss in Boots to Blu-ray. This Shrek spin-off focuses on feline rogue Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas, The Skin I Live In) as he plans a daring heist to steal magic beans from Jack and Jill (Billy Bob Thornton, Bad Santa, and Amy Sedaris, Elf). Puss in Boots is expected to street on February 24th, 2012.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed plans to bring Take Shelter to Blu-ray. The sophomore feature from director Jeff Nichols (Shotgun Stories), this psychological drama focuses on a loving husband and father (Michael Shannon, Revolutionary Road) unsure if the terrifying dreams he is experiencing are harbingers of an apocalyptic event or merely symptomatic of mental illness. Take Shelter is expected to street on February 14th, 2012.

The Adventures of Tintin Gets UK Release Date

In an early announcement to retailers, the UK branch of Paramount Home Entertainment has revealed that it will release Triple Play and Triple Play 3D Blu-ray editions of Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn (2011). The studio has not yet revealed the official technical specs and exact supplemental features to be included with these releases. Street date is March 19th.

Director Ridley Scott's highly anticipated return to the science-fiction genre, this thriller stars Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as a scientist embarking on a historic space expedition that quickly becomes a nightmare for all involved. Prometheus' scheduled U.S. release date is June 8th, 2012.

Director Steven Spielberg's classic adventure stars Roy Scheider (The French Connection) as a small-town police chief who has to team up with a marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss, American Graffiti) and a crazed shark hunter (Robert Shaw, The Deep) in order to defeat a man-eating shark.
