Square made public a new venture for the PlayStation 2, and it's the same racing game we revealed just a few days ago that's tentatively called Type-S. In the same mold as Gran Turismo, Type-S features several licenses from Japanese car manufacturers such as Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda, and Subaru and more are planned on being announced as the game reaches completion. Real racing tracks include the Tsukuba and Suzuka Japanese circuits and many more.
In development by a subsidiary of Square known as Escape, the game's development team worked with Dream Factory on the Ehrgeiz and Tobal series for PlayStation One. For more details on the game, check our previous news story from a few days back. In the meantime, scope out these early screenshots.
