Nuvvu Nenu wins 4 Filmfare awards

chennai: the telugu film nuvvu nenu hit the jackpot in the 49th annual filmfare awards for south indian films, winning four awards. the film (produced by p kiran) won not only the best film award, but also the best director (teja), best actor (uday kiran) and best music director (r p patnaik) award. it is the second filmfare award for kiran, the first being for anthapuram. the best actress award has been announced for bhoomika for her performance in khushi . the awards will be presented to the winners at a grand function at the jawaharlal nehru stadium in chennai at 6.30 pm on april 20. in the tamil category aanandam won the best film award with its producer r b chowdary winning his third filmfare award. the best director award went to cheran for his work in the film pandavar bhoomi , which again is his third filmfare award. vikram bagged his second filmfare award as best actor for his performance in kasi . earlier he had won the best jury award from filmfare. the latest star laila got her maiden award as best actress for her performance in the film nandaa . the melodious numbers of the film minnale, which have become popular in every household in tamil nadu, gave its music director harris jayaraj his first award. the malayalam actress samyukta varma won her second consecutive filmfare award as best actress for her performance in the film meghamalhar . incidentally, meghamalhar, produced by m v sreyans kumar, also won the best malayalam film award. the best director award has been announced for vinayan for karumadikuttan , and the best actor award for jayaram for his performance in theerthadanam . suresh peter bagged the best music director award for his renditions in ravanaprabhu . kothigalu sir kothigalu, produced by jai jagdish and vijayalakshmi singh has been announced as the best kannada film. the best director award has been announced for nagathihalli chandrasekar for his direction in the movie nanna preethiya hudugi . sudeep will receive the best actor award for his performance in huchcha and prema the best actress award for kanasugara . best music director has been given to guru kiran for the film chitra .
