Welcome
Wellington Silver Band is a friendly fourth section band steeped in history dating back to the 1800s. The band’s repertoire includes all types of brass band music from traditional to modern pieces. The band plays in concerts, churches, halls, schools, local fetes, seaside resorts, park bandstands, sports grounds and a host of other venues. We once played at a bikers’ convention! The band has a strong tradition of raising money for a variety of charities.
Wellington Silver Band
Wellington Silver Band is always keen to welcome new members of all ages and abilities. The band rehearses on Tuesday nights from 7.30pm to 10.00pm at our premises in Fore Street. We can give free tuition and the free loan of an instrument (dependant on availability). If you are interested then please check our 'Join us' page.
Training Band
We also have training band open to all ages. It has broad mix of ages and abilities giving new and less experienced players the opportunity to play in a group environment and gain valuable knowledge from senior band members who join in and mentor individuals.
Beginners group
As the last group of beginners have been playing for sometime now, we have decisded to re-start our beginners programme.
