DHS Wins Class A Boys' State Basketball Championship
The Deering boys' basketball team coached by Dan LeGage beat Hampden Academy to win the Class A State Championship on March 3 at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Deering also won the tournament's Sportsmanship Award. LeGage has been named the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches' Coach of the Year.
