Jay R. Oliff

Passed away peacefully on March 1, 2014 at the age of 82. Born and raised in Chicago, Jay met the love of his life, Adrienne Klein, in Berkeley while serving as first lieutenant in the U.S. Army. They married in 1956 and eventually settled in Palo Alto by way of San Francisco to raise their family. Jay’s work was a source of great pride and joy to him. He graduated from Northwestern Law School and worked as a CPA and tax attorney for 54 years, the last 35 years in private practice. Jay was a warm-hearted, generous man whose greatest passion was his family. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife, Jay is survived by his sister, Baila Stein; his two children, Jamie (Scott Hayden) and Andrew (Kim); and grandchildren Sarah, Michael, Cooper and Joseph.

A Celebration of Life in Jay’s honor will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 9 at Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos Hills. Donations in Jay’s memory may be made to the Jewish Home and Senior Living Foundation or Jewish Family and Children’s Services. The family also encourages blood donations in Jay’s honor.
