MANILA -- Charice Pempengco will be featured anew in a show hosted by American talk-show presenter Oprah Winfrey, who introduced the Filipino singing sensation to a worldwide audience in 2008.

Charice will be featured in the October 19 episode of "Where Are They Now?" on Winfrey's OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network). The show features personalities years after their first guest appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

The 22-year-old singer debuted on American television via "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in December 2007. She was then featured in the "World's Smartest Kids" special of Winfrey's eponymous talk show in May of the following year. She was last seen on the program in 2010 when she performed her international single, "Pyramid," with rapper Iyaz.

Charice, who finished runner-up in ABS-CBN's "Little Big Star" in 2005, has credited Winfrey for her international music career. Impressed by Charice's talent, the billionaire producer contacted composer David Foster to help the singer get a big break in the United States.

In June 2013, Charice made international headlines when she confirmed on "The Buzz" that she is lesbian, ending months of speculation.

In an interview on the same talk show that aired Sunday, Charice said she was happy to be reunited with Winfrey when they taped her "Where Are They Now?" episode.

"Kinakabahan ako kasi nung pagpasok ko pa lang sa studio sabi ko I'm really nervous. Sabi nila, 'Don't be, this is your homecoming," Charice said.

Recalling the topic of her one-on-one with Winfrey, the singer added: "Siguro, 'yung interview po na 'yun, it sounded like nag-come out naman ako sa US and yet she made me feel comfortable with everything, and I'm excited for everyone to see it kasi ibang side na ito."

According to Charice, Winfrey was encouraging with her words after her tell-all interview. "She hugged me and she was like, 'I'm very proud of you,'" she said.
