New Line Cinema

Move set for June

In a cost-saving move, New Line Cinema is leaving its longtime home in Los Angeles in June and moving to the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank.

The Warner division has been headquartered on Robertson Boulevard for 25 years.

New Line will move into Building 76, taking over the space formerly occupied by Legendary Entertainment. The studio and Legendary ended their co-financing partnership last year as Legendary took its deal to Universal.

New Line, which has about 50 employees, has seen solid performance from its most recent films: “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” “We’re the Millers” and “The Conjuring.”

New Line has four films on tap for 2014: Melissa McCarthy’s road-trip comedy “Tammy,” set for July 2; Steven Quale’s tornado drama “Into the Storm” (Aug. 8); “Horrible Bosses 2″ (Nov. 28); and the final “Hobbit” installment (Dec. 17).
