Meghan Trainor Joins Elite Company With Debut No. 1 Single & Album

Following the upgrade of Meghan Trainor's debut EP Title to a full-length, the set roars to No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It blasts to the summit with 238,000 equivalent units, powered by 195,000 in pure album sales, according to Nielsen Music.

The move doesn't just lift Trainor to the top of the Billboard 200; it also grants her entrance to an exclusive grouping of women who've scored a No. 1 debut album and a No. 1 debut Billboard Hot 100 hit. Title includes her debut smash "All About That Bass," which ruled the Hot 100 for eight weeks beginning in September (and became Epic Records' longest-reigning No. 1 ever, passing the seven-week commands of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" and "Black or White").

How rare an honor is it for a rookie female artist to crown each chart out-of-the-gate? Trainor is just the lucky 13th woman to begin with a No. 1 album and song in the more than 56 years that the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 have co-existed.

Even more impressively, Trainor has added a second big Hot 100 hit from Title, as "Lips Are Movin" has reached No. 4. Of the 13 leading ladies above, how many have followed their debut No. 1 single directly with a second top five hit? Trainor is just the fifth, after Tiffany, Carey, Aguilera and Beyonce.
