Lionsgate Taps Nerdist's Peter Levin Head

Nerdist Industries co-founder Peter Levin is joining Lionsgate as president of interactive ventures and games.

The longtime digital maven will oversee Lionsgate’s expansion into vidgames and will be tasked with growing its investments in digital entertainment. He will report to Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer with a dotted line on investments to CFO Jimmy Barge.

“Peter is a perfect fit for our entrepreneurial culture, and he is ideally qualified to lead the continued growth of our content business into the video game space and other interactive digital ventures,” said Feltheimer. “Gaming has become one of the most explosive growth areas of the content business, and Peter’s mandate will be to build a portfolio of premium digital properties as we expand our leadership in films and television programming into digital content as well.”

Levin most recently served as CEO of Nerdist Industries, the digital media powerhouse that launched Chris Hardwick’s career as media’s reigning uber-geek. Levin has consulted with numerous tech and digital firms over the years. He also served exec stints at CAA and Disney. Levin noted that Lionsgate’s “Hunger Games,” “Twilight” and “Divergent” pic franchises were ripe for ancillary digital and vidgame extensions.
