Lena Dunham's Joan of Arc cameo cut from Neighbors 2

After doing some slicing and dicing of her own, Lena Dunham wound up on the cutting room floor for the party comedy Neighbors 2.

The Girls creator and star posted an Instagram photo Monday of her would-be cameo in the film, in which she is dressed up like a certain medieval French warrior in front of a blue screen.

“Throwback to when I played the role of Joan of Arc in Neighbors 2,” she wrote in the caption. “I ended up on the cutting room floor so you won’t see my scene in the film, but it was all worth it for these blade hands and the chance to rewrite history as a Joan who jumps off the flaming pyre and guts a lot of men. I can’t wait for this movie.”

With any luck, Dunham’s scene will make it to the home-video release.
