Sneak Peek: Christina Aguilera's Upcoming Costumes

11/17/2006 at 06:00 AM ET

After dressing Michael Jackson for the World Music Awards, Roberto Cavalli has moved on to dressing another pop icon — Christina Aguilera. He has created ten one-of-a-kind looks for the songstress to wear on her upcoming "Back to Basics" tour, kicking off in Houston on February 20, 2007.  All the costumes will have a vintage flare, referencing everything from 1940’s-era Marlene Dietrich to 1960’s bathing suits.  This isn’t the first time that Cavalli has dressed Christina, and he explains "I am fascinated by the evolution of Christina’s musical style, as well as her personal style, which has become increasingly glamorous and sophisticated with amazing attention to detail — all values I share in my design sensibility." The sketches are beautiful, but we can’t wait to see them actually on Christina!

I am going to this concert and I can not wait to see what she has in store. She is such an amazing artist and I think she is by far one of the best out there. She cares deeply for her fans and always believes to do what she wants to do and not what other people think will sell hits. I love her and I am a huge fan! Cant wait to see the concert. Counting down the days!!!!

This is definitely one concert I will not miss! If you have ever listened to both CDs of Back to Basics, it looks as though those costumes fit perfectly with the music! Can’t wait to see Christina in concert!

Roberto Cavalli designed costumes aren’t going to change the fact that Aguilera has a boring and detached stage presence. Danity Kane and The Pussy Cat Dolls could do so much better than teaming up with this screecher.

i think she is extremely talented as singer, but seeing her on Saturday Night Live, when she sings it is so over dramatic. the mouth movements and all that. it is just too drama queenish. although i like that she has moved away from the skankiness.

She always looks amazing. I love her choices. Check out what she has worn in the past! I wish I had her christian louboutin collection!!

i don’t hate, just an observation. And it isn’t lip sing, it is lip sync and i didn;t say that she did that.

If I looked like her and had that talent I’d wear whatever I wanted. She is the real-deal (Britney whats-her-face is now more well known for her marital farces than she is for talent – and there is a reason for that).
