Daryl Coley, one of gospel music's most beloved male vocalists, passed away on March 15th at the age of 60. The unique beauty of his voice and his ability to synthesize many genres and styles in his work earned him exceptional admiration.

Jonathan McReynolds is a young gospel artist whose songs are as personal as they are inspirational. His second recording, Life Music: Stage Two, is filled with songs that portray people who struggle with daily life and keeping their faith.

ASCAP honored the songwriters and publishers of Christian music’s most performed songs of the past year at the 37th annual ASCAP Christian Music Awards, held on Monday, March 23rd at the historic Franklin Theatre in Franklin, Tennessee.

Andraé Crouch, a pioneer of contemporary Christian music, died yesterday in LA after suffering a heart attack. A renowned gospel performer, songwriter and choir director, Crouch had a transformative influence on contemporary gospel, and is credited with beginning to bridge the gap between black and white Christian music.

The Spirit of Christmas is a stunning collaboration between Grammy award-winning songwriter-artist Michael W. Smith and a who's who of outstanding vocalists from Nashville and beyond. Lady Antebellum, Bono, Michael McDonald and more present unique takes on Christmas classics as well as original holiday songs written by Smith.

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards ceremony was huge for ASCAP. All in all, ASCAP songwriters and their songs earned awards in more than 24 categories, including Top Country and Christian songs. The night also featured the live premiere of the new Miranda Lambert/Carrie Underwood single, written at an ASCAP song camp by Chris DeStefano, Brett James and Priscilla Renea.
