We get an early Christmas present as it's learned James Wan is filming the Aquaman movie in Australia.

Australia's Daily Telegraph notes Aquaman will be a big budget movie and will go into pre-production in Australia prior to Christmas and is expected to start filming next year.

Their report mentions Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe will be in Australia for filming on Aquaman, and it also mentions Michael Kenneth Williams is attached to the movie.

Michael Kenneth Williams has been said to be playing the Aquaman movie villain, Black Manta. Update: Aquaman director James Wan has said Michael Kenneth Williams is not playing Black Manta.

Aquaman marks WB's first movie in Australia since Bryan Singer filmed Superman Returns back in 2005.

Jason Momoa stars in Aquaman directed by James Wan which has a July 27, 2018 release. Amber Heard plays Mera, with Willem Dafoe playing another Atlantean, Nuidis Vulko.

Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe will also be a part of the Zack Snyder's 2017 Justice League movie.
