Bombshell benefits from a terrific cast and a worthy subject, but its impact is muffled by a frustrating inability to go deeper than the sensationalistic surface.

For its part, "Bombshell" tells a crucial chapter of that larger tale with coolheaded style and heated indignation. Its aim might be narrow, but it hits the target. Dec 17, 2019 | Rating: 3/4 | Full Review…

You don't have to like Kelly, Carlson, or the fictitious Pospisil to feel something for these women, intelligent, gifted professionals undermined by a controlling creep. But you're always aware of their relative privilege, too. Dec 13, 2019 | Full Review…

As often occurs with topical tales, which are hellbent on catching a widespread mood (in this instance, anger and disgust), there's something hasty and undigested about "Bombshell." Dec 13, 2019 | Full Review…

The level of naiveté required to cap off a story like Bombshell's with an inspiring, "Women rule!" pop anthem is unfathomable to me. Dec 18, 2019 | Rating: 1.5/5 | Full Review…

The movie also is disjointed because it's not sure where it wants to take us. It's a cinematic pendulum swinging back and forth from satire to an inspirational empowerment drama. Dec 18, 2019 | Rating: 2.5/4 | Full Review…

If the only-channel-we-watch crowd does show up, they should be chastened and chilled...And boy, when women decide to gang up on bullies, rapists and harassers, watch out. Dec 18, 2019 | Rating: 3/4 | Full Review…
