Fourteen tracks by singer-songwriter Billie Eilish (USA, b. Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell) charted on the Billboard Hot 100 dated 13 April 2019. They were: “Bad Guy” (No.7 – new entry); “Bury a Friend” (No.25); “When the Party’s Over” (No.29 – re-entry); “Wish You Were Gay” (No.31); “Xanny” (No.35 – new entry); “You Should See Me in a Crown” (No.41 – re-entry); “My Strange Addiction” (No.43 – new entry); “All the Good Girls Go to Hell” (No.46); “I Love You” (No.53 – new entry); “Ilomilo” (No.62 – new entry); “Listen Before I Go” (No.63); “8” (No.79); “Lovely” (feat. Khalid, No.85); and “Ocean Eyes” (No.94 – re-entry).
Eilish snatched the crown from rapper Cardi B (USA, b. Belcalis Almánzar), who posted 13 tracks on the Hot 100 dated 21 April 2018.
Twelve of the 14 tracks on Eilish’s debut studio album, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, made the Hot 100 on 13 April 2019. The two to miss out were a 14-second spoken-word intro titled “!!!!!!!” and the two-minute album closer “Goodbye”. The two Hot 100 hits not on the album, “Lovely” and “Ocean Eyes”, both appeared on Eilish’s debut EP, “Don’t Smile at Me” (2017) – the former on the expanded edition of the release.
In the same week (13 April 2019), WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP… debuted at No.1 on the US Billboard 200 with 313,000 equivalent album units, including 194 million on-demand audio streams – the third-highest figure ever for an album by a woman. Eilish (b. 18 December 2001) was 17 years 116 days old when she secured the top spot – the youngest female chart-topper in the US since countrywoman Demi Lovato (b. 20 August 1992) went to No.1 with Here We Go Again on 8 August 2009, aged 16 years 353 days.
