The number of Americans ages 65 and older is projected to increase from 58 million in 2022 to 82 million by 2050, according to the Population Reference Bureau. While home health aide is among the fastest-growing professions in the country, there aren't enough workers to meet current and future needs. Even today, it's hard for families to find trusted caregivers for their young children or aging parents, and tough to afford care when they do find it. At the same time, paid caregivers often can't make ends meet doing the important work that they do.
