Billie Eilish finds out she was conceived via IVF during Howard Stern interview

Revelations often come to light during conversations with Howard Stern, and Billie Eilish's visit was no exception.

The 17-year-old appeared on Stern's SiriusXM show, where conversation subjects included her sudden rise to fame, her relationship with her brother — and the story of her conception, which included a key detail that she may not have wanted to hear on-air.

Toward the end of Eilish's interview, her parents stepped inside the studio to meet Stern and his crew. Stern, never one to shy away from a risqué question, asked them about the night they conceived Billie, saying it could be useful knowledge for would-be parents hoping to create a musical prodigy.

"Well, Billie was conceived with the existence of a fertility clinic," Billie's mother responded, leading Stern to quip "So, Billie was built in a lab."

"I was alone in a dark room," her father confirmed.

The couple said it took four rounds of fertility treatments before a success.

Eilish was either shocked to learn that she is a product of IVF or just shocked that her parents were candidly talking about it during an interview that would be heard by millions. Either way, Stern took a look at her face and said, "Billie, you look like you're going to pass out."

Despite being forced to hear about her parents' intimate happenings, Eilish said she had fun during her first Stern appearance, especially when she and brother Finneas got to create a new song on-the-spot in the studio. "I love this interview. We did things that I very much enjoyed. I hope you know that," she told Stern. "This whole song thing? I liked that a lot. Nobody ever makes us do anything interesting."
