Days after Hurricane Sandy ripped through New Jersey, New York and other parts of the Northeast, NBC is staging a benefit concert to aid victims starring native sons Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi and Billy Joel.

“Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together” will air Friday at 8 p.m. ET on various NBC networks. The location of the concert has not been announced.
The concert was announced Thursday on the “Today” show by Matt Lauer, who will be on hosting duties. Other stars to perform include Sting and Christina Aguilera, who was born in the devastated NYC borough of Staten Island.

Proceeds will be directed to the American Red Cross. The special will be live-streamed on NBC.com and air on NBC, NBC.com, USA Network, MSNBC, CNBC, Bravo, E!, Style Network, G4 and more.
Lauer said that fellow NBC personalities Brian Williams and Jimmy Fallon will also make appearances and that more musical artists will be announced on Friday.
