Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera have confirmed that they will team up for the Justified and Stripped tour of North America this summer. Although an itinerary has not yet been released, the trek is expected to kick off June 4 in a city to be announced and encompass 45 dates. Beforehand, Timberlake has nine U.K. arena concerts on tap for May, several of which have already sold out.
This will be Timberlake’s inaugural solo tour, and comes in support of the ‘N Sync star’s Jive solo debut, “Justified.” The set debuted in November at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and has spawned the Billboard Hot 100 hits “Cry Me a River” (No. 3) and “Like I Love You” (No. 11).
“I’m looking forward to this tour because it’s the first time I’m touring as a solo artist and the first time I’m getting to perform the songs from my CD ‘Justified’ for my fans,” Timberlake said in a statement. “This tour with Christina is going to allow the fans to see two great concerts in one night.”
Aguilera will out behind her most recent RCA set “Stripped,” which bowed in November at No. 2 on The Billboard 200. While first single “Dirrty” stalled at No. 48 on the Hot 100, its follow-up, “Beautiful,” soared to No. 2 on the chart earlier this month.
“I’m so excited to be touring again and to be on stage performing for my fans. That’s what makes it all worthwhile for me,” Aguilera said. “I’m really looking forward to working with Justin. We are going to put on an unbelievable show. Get ready. This is something you don’t want to miss.”
