Ed Harris’ “Appaloosa” was named best film at the 24th Boston Film Festival, which ran Sept. 12-17 at the Kendall Square Theaters.
Harris and co-writer Robert Knott also took home the prize for best adapted screenplay.
Boaz Yakin was applauded as best director for his film “Death in Love.” Jamil Rostami was named best international filmmaker for “Jani Gal.”
The top acting awards went to best actor Greg Kinnear for “Flash of Genius” and best actress Jacqueline Bisset for “Death in Love.”
Micki Dickoff and Tony Pagano’s “Neshoba” took home the award for best documentary, while Edvin Snors’ “A Soviet Story” received the Mass Impact Award.
A Creative Visionary Award was present to “Childless” director and writer Charlie Levi.
“Clear Lake, WI” grabbed the audience favorite prize.
